I use the pre-existing media of antiquarian books to explore the subtext of human interaction. I do this by creating small dioramas within the pages, collaborating with the writer to create my own story. My pieces examine the human condition – often involving deviant behaviour, secrets and parallel lives. The absurd, the comic, and ironic as well as the scandals, traumas and sorrows. I have now expanded my narrative to involve a working train set, using the characters, stories and scenarios from my book pieces.
To date I have had five solo exhibitions in London and exhibit regularly at Art Fairs around the country.
I am currently exhibiting a selection of mixed media antiquarian book sculptures incorporating HO scale railway models, a moving model railway installation, bell jar sculptures and Giclee Prints of my work.
