Born in Berlin, Germany, on the 7th of August 1930 into a family of architects, artists and builders, one of my first memories is of walking as a little boy along a field track between two wheat fields with the larks singing overhead and the grain taller than myself and the poppies and corn flowers were in full bloom.
When I do a piece of sculpture in a good mood the essence of the subject and that sunny day long ago carry me along.
So at a time when stress abounds in the modern world, I seek to tell about the beauty that I see.
