Hello there and welcome to my showcase. I am a painter and illustrator who specialises in representational photorealistic landscape and Celtic mythology and pagan themed illustration. The main medium in which I work is gouache which is water-based paint, while traditional watercolours are transparent; gouache is a more opaque form of paint, it gives a matte finish with a beautiful depth of rich colour. Having lived for many years in the beautiful countryside of the North Yorkshire Moors my sources of inspiration are woodland, trees, streams and moorland and therefore my palette mainly consists of the colours of nature with rich earthy greens, browns and yellows highlighted with the blues, reds and purples of heather, bluebells and berries. I am passionate about my art practice, it is my bliss and I hope the tranquillity and beauty of nature and the natural landscape shine forth from these compositions and lightens the heart of the viewer.
My work is very affordable and I can sell you original paintings or together we can arrange to have print runs made of the work that you like. I also have limited edition Fine Art Trade Guild approved lithographic prints available of some of my older work. I sometimes work to commission and would love the opportunity to offer my work for book illustration.
I hold a first class B.A Honours Degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practice from the Hull School of Art and Design (2012). I am a self-taught painter and have been painting for many years. I have exhibited in solo and group exhibitions around the Yorkshire region and have sold my work to private collections all over the world. Some of my paintings are also available at the 'LOOK GALLERY' in Helmsley, North Yorkshire. England.
