“Painting the Great War” – Exhibition of paintings

by Artists Info artist Paul Woods

Athy Heritage Centre, 7th September - 7th October
2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War. Warfare and conflict are the predominant themes in the work of the artist Paul Woods. He believes that events of the past, though often unresolved or misrepresented, have a great influence on our understanding of society and community now. Through his art he deals with past and present traumas from history and tries to engage the viewers in the process of deconstructing generally accepted opinions.
