Linda Beattie's acrylic paintings use abstract shapes, music and typography mixed with bold block colours.
Linda Beattie studied graphic design at Fine Art at North Wales School of Art & Design. Then studied drawing, painting and portraiture at The Heatherley School of Fine Art in London.
A career in Graphic Design has influenced Linda's style of painting. Bold, flat colours appear alongside areas painted with a strong attention to detail. In contrast, she often uses a more basic palette of colours to simplify the image. Therefore encouraging viewers to use their own imagination to expand the subject matter.
Her interest in playing classical guitar has influenced recent paintings. The 'Excerpts Series' include the romantic 19th century Lacote style guitar as well as the more contemporary style of guitar. These paintings feature extracts from her own personal favourite things, including classical guitar music, books and films.
Linda's artworks are in private collections in: Australia, Canada, Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Sweden, UK and USA.
