I paint landscapes in a vivid representational style driven by a passion for detail which has always been evident in my work.
Originally from Southampton, I studied at Portsmouth College of Art and then at the University of Portsmouth.
Following a degree in computer graphics I spent several years working in the video games industry, before going freelance and running my own creative media business with partner and fellow artist Vanessa Wells.
In 2008 we moved to the Hampshire village of Swanmore where I now use our garage as a studio and temporary exhibition space.
I am drawn to the subtle light and shadows cast across the rural landscape, especially on sunny winter days.
The local Meon Valley landscape is a constant source of inspiration and I continue to take hundreds of reference photographs across the changing seasons.
I also make mixed media sketches to explore compositions and colour schemes before starting a new canvas.
I've always enjoyed being outdoors and walking in the countryside, gaining inspiration from other views around the British Isles.
Favorite locations include Cornwall, The Lake District and the Isle of Skye.
