In 1991, I enrolled for a mixed-media course at Chichester College. Here I began studying in earnest the fine techniques required in mixed-media, life drawing, landscapes and eventually finding my forte in floral watercolours, flowers being one of my main inspirations. During the subsequent years my journey has continued and I have honed my skills through hard work and determination to achieve my own distinct style.
I have recently begun to focus on acrylics on canvas, experimenting with different textures and endeavour to capture atmosphere in seascapes, I relish in sitting at the beach absorbing the ever changing light and how it casts it's shadows and dappled sparkles over the surface of the water. The majority of my work is painted from my mind, imagination and soul. my approach and style of painting has evolved, aiming to represent emotion, focusing on my interpretation for the subject. I have successfully exhibited my work at many local exhibitions including Arundel Art Trail, Oxmarket Centre of Arts, The Arts and Craft Shop at Rose Green, The K'ai men Gallery, The Art House Gallery and Charlie Harpers Cafe currently sell my work. I have recently become a member of The City Art Group & Chichester Art society.
I have been participating in the Art trail for the last 10 years which have been both enjoyable and successful. I teach one day a week in my garden studio and have built up a few regulars and have been enthralled to share my passion with others.
