Born and educated in UK, at the age of thirteen I knew I wanted a career in art and I was encouraged by my parents and teachers at school. I attended Southbank University ( teacher's diploma)and West Surrey College of art (honours degree).
After teaching in schools and colleges for sixteen years, I became a full time artist as soon as I found my true expression and art signature. Due to my husband's relocation to France in 1996, I made the most of the vibrant art scene and took part in many salons achieving great success with awards and diplomas for my unique art.
I like to express my love of natural surroundings, from glorious gardens, wild flower prairies, captivating natural landscapes and wildlife. Foreign travel has broadened my vision and scope from the imaginative to the exotic bold compositions. Countries where I participated in exhibitions such as China, Japan, Cambodia, Australia and India, all contributed towards the evolution of my unusual techniques which involve applying other media to enhance the overall magical effects.
To date , I have accumulated over thirty awards, both national and international.

I am currently working on a series of underwater scenes inspired by the Barrier Reef in Australia.A few examples are shown in this gallery. The dark mysterious magical effects I have achieved with mixed media on paper are enhanced with intricate embroidery. In this liqeous paradise, the colours radiate scintillating hues which change and flicker with light and the textural mass of stitchery defines the rich irridescent forms of sealife.
