California artist Wendy Goldberg’s rural and urban landscape drawings and paintings have been variously classified as Intimist, Tonalist and Impressionist.
Her contemporary, atmospheric, semi-abstract, luminous landscapes have an eerie expressiveness, and the capacity to draw out the essential mood of a subject through simplicity and suggestion. Most of the work are pastel drawings, paintings and prints of landscapes, skies, water and semi-abstract nocturnes.
She also paints a series of interiors--old houses/rooms that have a sense of character/history/story to tell. She draws both small, intimate drawings as well as larger paintings, drawings and giclees.
