SCOTTISH ARTIST
I am a painter-printmaker creating paintings, prints and works in watercolour and tempera.

Recent success:
My painting in tempera entitled "Sketching in the Square" was accepted into The W. Gordon Smith Award Exhibition at The Dovecot Gallery in Edinburgh in January 2016 where it was purchased by the Dean of Undergraduate Studies at Edinburgh University.

Print proposal accepted:-
My proposal for a print entitled "Uplighters" based on the staging inside the Perth Concert Hall, involving sugar-lift etching and woodcut was selected by Perth Art Gallery, Scotland, for their curated modern exhibition in October 2016.

Watercolour successes:-
My watercolour "Loch Leven Castle" was accepted into the Royal Scottish Society of Watercolourists Autumn Exhibition in The Stirling Smith Art Gallery in November 2016. My watercolour "Wetlands, Loch Leven" was recently chosen for The RSW Summer exhibition in The Meffan Gallery, Forfar, May 2018.

Forthcoming Autumn and Winter Exhibition:-
"Benarty" a limited edition woodcut I created last summer will feature in the following prestigious group show WASHI UMI O KOETE - PAPER FROM ACROSS THE SEA, a cultural exchange with Japanese papermakers when prints created by 13 members of Dunfermline Printmakers on Japanese paper specially made for us will be exhibited at Dunfermline Museum and Library from 10th September to January 2019. This is accompanied by the publication of an illustrated catalogue. Previously exhibited in Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop and Glasgow Printmakers Workshop, this is the most important and long showing. All prints are for sale, individually or as a boxed set of all 13.

Having been successful in becoming a Wildcard in The Sky Landscape Artist of the Year Competition in June 2016, I took part in the second day's painting session at Wray Castle near Ambleside in the Lake District and apart from the painting I completed, went on to create two more acrylic paintings on canvas after returning home, based on the experience of being close to Lake Windermere.

Publications which include my prints are "Stone Lithography" and "Plate Lithography" by Paul Croft. Prior to being a member of Dunfermline Printmakers, I studied Lithography at Edinburgh Printmakers. From there I exhibited in the 4th International Symposium in Tidaholm, Sweden.
