Susan's Creative Practice
'My work is process led. It is the paint qualities, the weight of the paper and the mark making materials that are often more important than the subject matter. I work on several paintings at once, sometimes over many weeks, revisiting each piece many times.
My practice involves layering translucent pools of watercolour, with each layer reflecting my unconscious emotional response to the materials at that particular time. Watercolour can be unforgiving, but by working with the materials with no controlled expectation, there are no mistakes, only pleasing accidents that enhance the outcome.'

Original works on paper vary in size from 78 x 58 cms, to 38 x 38 cms, to 18 x 18 cms.
