I work principally with oil paint on canvas, linen and wood panels.
My Still Life paintings express shape and colour by attempting to capture how light passes through and is reflected by everyday objects – abstraction expressed through figurative realism.
My Landscapes also try to record light and shape in varying guises, from early spring sunlight on Hampstead Heath to the Lake District on dark and glowering afternoons. My Cityscapes are as much about shape as they are a visual snapshot.
As a keen people-watcher, I produced a series of Sporting mini portraits - against a background of pheasant and partridge shoots in Suffolk.
As well as the pictures on sale through my website I exhibit at one-man and shared shows. Additionally, I will undertake work, particularly Portraits from drawings and photographs, on a commission basis.
