Richard Picton is an artist from South Wales who now lives in Reading, Berkshire, not far from the River Thames, which features regularly in his work. Richard also has a passion for steam railways, many of which are seen in the South Wales valleys where he spent his childhood. All of the paintings are oil on canvas, ranging from 16" x 12", up to 30" x 20". Recent additions to the usual subjects are seascapes and a few dog portraits, although landscapes and steam engines account for the bulk of the collection. The finished paintings tend to be of a pastel appearance with subtle changes of tones and colour intensity, resulting in a more traditional style of art, instead of the brighter vibrant hues of a more contemporary painting. Exhibitions are held occassionaly, mainly around the artist's home town of Reading, and sometimes in South Wales. Some of the paintings are available for sale. All of the paintings are available as prints. Larger ones are approximately 16" x 12", total size including a white border, and are £30. Smaller ones are approximately 8" x 6" including a white border, and are £10. P & P is £8. I can deliver for free in the Reading area. The prints are produced on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper, using Epson Pigment Ink K3.
