I am an artist from Chicago, Illinois and a graduate from the School of the art Institute of Chicago. My work focuses on the psychological aspect of portraiture. I like to reveal the biography of the person I'm painting as well as their image. Stories of leaders, artists and people moving up from the bottom of the social-economic scale interest me. My paintings are a search for truths and secrets of human existence.
My current body of wok is large scale acrylic paintings that I've called The 27 Club. I'm using a concept that I created called BioCollage. This is a painting made up of smaller canvases put together in I've overarching image. The smaller canvases tell the biography with imagery that depicts abs tides if thier life. I intertwine one large portrait on too of the smaller canvases to crest a multi layered visual. The 27 Club series is a group of artists who died tragically at the age of 27. Included are Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Brian Jones and Jean Micheal Basquiat.
