After 25 years as an illustrator during which time I painted over 480 book jacket illustrations for most major UK and USA publishers I decided to paint solely personal work for sale in UK fine art galleries in 2005. A full biography can be found on my website which details exhibitions, awards, articles, prints and books in which my work has featured including an entry in “Who’s Who In Art” published by the Morven Press. I now work exclusively in oils previously on gessoed MDF board but now mainly on canvas. I paint a wide variety of subject matter; landscapes, still life, cityscapes, plein air landscapes, what could be called Urban Surrealism, figurative, travel paintings and currently a strand of work that is a combination of what could be loosely called fantasy subject matter connected to my earlier illustration career and my current painterly approach to image making. All these strands of work are however connected by an abiding interest in colour, mood and atmosphere that manifests in whatever I paint. I sell through established UK galleries, art fairs and the internet, my prices range from £300 to £2500+ depending on size and complexity and my work could be therefore be called affordable.
