Acclaimed Canadian artist Louise Lambert is well known for her breathtaking renditions of vineyards both local and abroad. Local media nicknamed Louise “The Lady of Light” for her ability to capture, in her works, the spectacular lights and shadows of surrounding mountains, skies and vineyards of British Columbia, California, Italy and France. Her captivating use of colour and light makes her work instantly recognizable. Louise’s following extends throughout Canada, United States, the UK and Australia.
INSPIRATION: Her work is reminiscent of the “Old World” painting of Tuscany and France with a contemporary twist. When you view this art it is impossible not to feel a part of the landscape. “Wine and Art are the most natural of companions “says Louise, I am very fortunate to work in Wine Country Studios surrounded by this beauty. Louise was educated as a portrait artist at Coppini Academy of Fine Arts in San Antonio, Texas, as well as Canadian and US Universities. Continually refining her skills studying in Washington, DC, Ottawa, and Toronto, Canada, she is Canadian born, Louise has lived all over the world including Asia, striving to seize the best of what she has learned from each region into her practice. She has not forgotten her portrait roots and brings the spirit to life in her Women and Wine Series. “These women are every women at one point in time in their life…strong pensive, playful, seductive and wise”.
SHARING her talents and work, she has showed in over 68 shows throughout North America and teaches art student in a host of public and private art galleries. Charitable causes also have benefited from her denotations for fund raising and she is instrumental in her community developing “ART IN THE PARK” and ART TRAILS guide. Every summer she celebrates with her students and art tourists by Plein Painting in selected Vineyards.
