I am a painter who gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2004, and since then I have exhibited in various locations in the UK and Europe.
I produce figurative and semi-abstract oil paintings with the common theme of our impact on our environment and those things that are part of it. However, it is the visual appearance of our human traces that inspires my paintings, rather than environmental issues. My gallery features work from my Dwellings and Shoes collections.
A rich source of inspiration comes from examining ordinary places or objects that are overlooked, worn or discarded. The shapes and forms inherent in an object and those that occur through wear and decay define a painting’s individual composition and characteristics. A new experimental process begins with each work, based on my perceived history of the subject.
