I am a painter, printmaker and poet.
I live and work in Hertfordshire where I am studying an MA in Fine Art.
I am inspired by many things including cultural traditions, the diaspora, the beauty of the land, memory and music.
Colour plays an important role in my work to portray feelings. Blue is said to represent a feeling of protection, yellow a sense of light and intellect and red is the colour of life, love and raw emotion.
I produce abstract and figurative works with the use of colour, mark making, texture and shape and work on wooden board, canvas and paper using varied brushstrokes and marks to evoke different states of sensitivity.
I often include poetry and text within the artwork, a process that I find meaningful and liberating. I am excited by the thought of each new project that I undertake and enjoy the process of making as much as arriving at the end result.
