Janet paints dog portraits, working in a contemporary style using acrylics on canvas. Her love and knowledge of dogs informs her artwork and she aims to capture the spirit, personality and essence of the dog.
Printmaking has allowed her to explore the way she can express the character of a dog.
Janet finds the texture and depth of image possible in printmaking inspiring. The techniques include linoprints, collagraphs, screenprint and solar plate etching . All have their own pleasures to her as an artist.
During lockdown she has been experimenting using different media, doing paintings for friends and friends of friends. No charge just requesting donations to charity. Some happy smiling people.
Mascot Media publication Paw Prints, published late 2019 included her work. Also her work is in ‘Kingfisher’ their latest publication.
Janet was delighted that her painting of 'Joe', her handsome Labradoodle, was selected for Acrylic Works 6 book - Creative Energy , published by Northlight Books. Her painting 'Peppermint', a handsome Kune Kune pig on a bright green background, was included in Acrylics Works 4 - Captivating Colour.
Her work is also displayed at Chapter 79, jewellers, Hertford. This will form part of the Hertford Art Trail 2021
