Jaiq's large scale oils on canvas invite the viewer into the private world of soulful femininity; captivating, sultry, vital. Jaiq's subjects are unapologetically sensual. Concubines of the contemporary art world, aware of the mesmerising effect of their sexuality, Jaiq purposefully dismisses the notion of subverting the feminine and challenges you to deny their inherent female power.
A 1996 fine art graduate, Jaiq has spent much of the last 17 years inspiring the students of four Yorkshire colleges with a diverse range of creative skills and coaching methods. Following her dream to dedicate her working life to improving her painting techniques and creating more art presented a major life overhaul in 2013, resulting in a relocation 300 miles south of her native Yorkshire to settle in Dorset. Now focussing on her re-emerging art practice, Jaiq works from her studio at home, aiming to engage a collecting audience with her work. Still a contributor who believes in sharing knowledge, Jaiq’s long term vision is to use art and creativity as a tool for inspiration, motivation and empowerment, helping others achieve their own personal goals and dreams.
