Hello, my name is Ivor M Mackay. I am from the Isle of Lewis, one of the Outer Hebrides in North West Scotland. I gained a degree in drawing and painting from Edinburgh College of Art in 1991 and have been working as an artist and selling my work since.
My work is mainly inspired by the beauty and sheer rugged land and seascapes of my native Hebrides. The ever-changing light and powerful extremes of weather, fantastic beaches, coastlines and old croft houses keep me thirsty to paint.
I mainly paint in acrylic but like to use chalk pastels, charcoal, and sometimes watercolour.
My work is in many private collections all over the world.
