I feel art is in my veins - something I feel compelled to do. – I personally feel quite miserable if I can't paint for any reason. Artist block and I admit I am totally unbearable to live with. Sitting in my studio at my easel with Enya or something classical playing in the background and I am in my element totally blissfully unaware of either time or place.
I feel honoured when a client says that my paintings are difficult to move their gaze from and that tranquility and a sense of “being there themselves sometime in their past brings back happy memories for them. What more could an artist wish for. I feel very proud that they want my paintings on their wall to be admired by all that visit them.
I spent my childhood either cycling up and down country lanes or walking the sea shore dunes and grew up to appreciate the beauty of my homeland and as a toddler would be found with a pencil or paintbrush normally defacing yet another story book with scribbles and attempts to draw. A fondly remembered uncle who was an artist would allow me as a little girl to pester him to be allowed to come along on his painting trips which would occupy us for a whole wonderful day.
Now, I feel honoured when a client says that my oil paintings of landscapes are difficult to move their gaze from and that tranquility and a sense of “being there themselves sometime in their past brings back happy memories for them. They often say that my paths within the paintings only add to make them as the viewer wish to travel through the painting and explore further. I feel very proud that they want my paintings on their wall to be admired by all that visit them.
All my oil paintings are placed in Mahogany and Gilt frame under Gass with double Ivory mounts. But naturally, these can be changed to whatever the client desires.
I have quite a few followers and buyers of my artwork but welcome more - anyone who also loves tranquil and serene landscapes with water running through them and the light catching the land and reflections in puddles, rivers, streams, long grasses and green meadows will I am sure love my paintings. I have sold in Europe, America, Canada, China, Dubai just to mention a few and naturaly my own homeland Scotland.
