‘“Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties." Erich Fromm
Storer's work embraces abstract and figurative styles, painted in thick impasto oil or water based paints such as acrylic or goache , on large canvases with palette knives, brushes and squeegees.
Pollock’s action painting including Rothko’s glazing techniques and the squeegee painting practised by Gerhard Richter influence this work. In particular Richter's polemic that "almost every work of art is an analogy" appeals to the artists sense of what it is to be human.
"Art is making sense and giving shape to that sense. It is like the religious search for God." Gerhard Richter.
