seonaid clarke

Failte! My name is Seonaid Clarke and I am a self-taught artist who lives and works in my hometown of Stornoway, the main township of the Outer Hebrides.
After a successful career in the aviation industry I am now living my dream of being a full time artist.
My work is quite varied and I really enjoy being able to spend time concentrating on photo realistic graphite pencil portraits, whilst also have the freedom to create from the heart and loose myself in heavily textured, moody and atmospheric landscapes/ seascapes. I love using vibrant hues as well muted colours along with some iridescent mediums to give my work a little bit of ‘sparkle’ particularly in my more recent creations where I have used the famous Harris Tweed as my canvas. These were first exhibited at the inaugural Aberdeen Art Fair.
Much of my inspiration comes from the environment around me, places and people and the wonders our unpredictable weather creates.
The majority of my work is commissioned but I also manage to exhibit my work in a limited selection of galleries as time permits.
We are now offering a range of Limited Edition and Open Edition Giclee prints of some of my original work, which are printed on high quality art paper and using light resistant inks. Each print is signed and comes complete with a certificate of authentication.
