Patricia Spero

Artist Bio

I am a woodturning artist and contemporary wall art designer. My work is purely decorative and I use only sustainable English woods, such as elm, ash and sycamore to make bowls and platters.
My turned work is made in collaboration with my partner Gabor Lacko, and our inspiration comes from the natural beauty of nature. We use a myriad of leaves, flowers and trees to enhance our turnings, and they are often inlaid with semi-precious stones, such as turquoise and malachite, and sometimes with beads. Many of the bowls are coloured, textured and pierced.

I  also specialise in hand turned and decorated PAPERWEIGHTS.    These can be made in any wood, and inlaid with semi-precious stones or glass,or coloured and stippled with leaf or flower designs.

My contemporary abstract wall hangings, called " BAMBOO AND BEADS ", are made from bamboo sticks and reeds, which I collect from the banks of the River Blackwater, and these are coloured and decorated with beads. Recent commissions that I have made have been in Turquoise, Green/Yellow and Red.
They can be made to order in any size or colour.
