A bit about me……

I am a Scottish born photographer passionate about creative landscape photography. I specialise in low light image capture which allows me to make the best of the fabulous tapestry of colours we have up here on the Argyll Coast in the Scottish Highlands. You can read more about me, my dreams and my studio here.

I print all my own work on my fabulous 44″ Epson printer using museum quality, Canson Infinity fine art photgraphy paper and intense, non-fade Epson Ultrachrome K3 with Vivid Magenta inks.  My contemporary landscape work looks particularly eye catching in the very large wall art sizes and is perfect for that statement piece to fill big empty spaces. I am open to special requests and happy to ship my artwork worldwide; I provide a Certificate of Authenticity with my Limited Editions. I have a large selection of work on my personal website Crionna Photography, please just get in touch if you have any questions I would be delighted if you want to join me on Pinterest, Facebook or Twitter.

As a child I was passionate about impressionist paintings, from the colourful movement of Monet’s gardens to the sweeping power and light in Turner’s seascapes. Colour and movement are strong influences in my photography. I love remote places, places free of human influence, where time seems to stand still. My favourite time is just before dawn, when the world is quiet and the water still. At this time there is often mist over the lochs and hills; as the sun rises the light changes there are fleeting moments of wonderful colour. In all kinds of weather, I am to be found on a beach or by the side of a loch accompanied by my faithful companion Pippa, a little black spaniel who loves the water.

I have had various commendations for my work, including being shortlisted for major competitions such as the UK Digital Photographer of the Year in 2010 and the UK Take a View Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2011 and 2012. I had an exhibition at the Agora Art Gallery in New York in October and November 2013 and I am represented by several Scottish galleries. Currently my work is the subject of a solo exhibition in The Colintraive Hotel and Guesthouse Eilean Dhu. My next event is in September 2015 when I will exhibit as part of the Mistresses of Light exhibition at the Oxo Tower Gallery in London as part of the Landscapes by Women group. I will be a guest speaker at the SWPP Convention in January 2016 where I will be discussing the imbalance in terms of numbers of women involved in landscape photography compared to men.
