Ivan Jones

I am a retired veterinarian who has become a pastel artist. I was introduced to pastels as a teenager by a friend of my father’s and in fact I still have my first set of pastels. I have completed a large number of works in the past 15 years, many of which can be seen on my website.

I work from photographs and undertake commission work as well as create artwork in a wide range of subject matter. Detail is of importance to me and each work takes 20 to 30 hours to complete. I admire the work of many artists including the Impressionists, Pre-Raphaelites, David Shepherd, Simon Coombes, and many of my contemporaries.

I have exhibited widely within Herefordshire and have work currently at the Sable and Hogg gallery in Brecon. My most recent sales were “Running Hare” at the Sable and Hogg gallery and ” Dreaming of Fame” on Artfinder.com I also sell Artist Proof A3 prints, mounted and framed, of a number of my more recent works. I also have a number of commissions recently undertaken including the head of a horse, a family of four and, my current work, two ospreys. You will see more of my commission work on my website and facebook page.

Keep up to date with my new work at facebook.com/ivanjonesart or facebook.com/pastelworkinprogress ……
