Heatherbell Barlow sells contemporary paintings of Devon Landscapes and Seascapes. I paint in an Impressionist/Realist style. Discovering Scilly defined my practice as an artist.
Isles of Scilly It was here I found the smallest gap between Heaven and Earth; the light is unique and inspiration lies at every corner of these enchanted islands. Here I can create a sense of Beauty, Time and Place where the ebbing tide is a constant reminder of our transient passing. Several of my sketchbooks based on Scilly can be found in the Brooklyn Art Library New York.
Exhibitions. My passion for beautiful landscapes extends beyond the West Country to the Lake District and the Greek Islands. I have exhibited around the world with the Twitter Art Exhibitions, in Germany with the Tiverton Art Society and in London with Artizan Gallery. I often take on commissions for a favourite view or special place where I can work from a client's photos if I am unable to visit in person. In 2016 I was commissioned to paint a honeymoon destination on Bora Bora in the South Pacific. Sadly I didn't get to go there! I was delighted to be selected for an exhibition of Devon Artists showing our paintings in 2016 at Prospero House, London. HeatherbellArt I am a member of the Devon Artist network and have exhibited with the South West Academy in their open exhibitions and at Harbour House in Kingsbridge. I frequently take part in the Devon Open Studios, opening my Red Sail studio to the Public. My latest paintings are to be found at Pot Buoys Gallery on St Agnes, Scilly and my Venetian paintings at Sanzio in Willesden Green. I Currently have a Solo Show running at OHSCC in Tiverton Devon.
